Committee Nominees
The following members have nominated themselves for the OJA Committee. Please read their biographies below.
If you would like to nominate yourself, please post the nomination & blurb in the AUNZ Judge Slack in the channel #nominations
Rhianna Milton
Level 2 OJA Ordinary Committee Member - Sydney - She/Her
Nominating for the position of Ordinary Committee Member.
I'd like to put myself forward to continue serving on the OJA committee. I show up. I'm an active, consistent participant in meetings and discussions. This year I have worked hard to bring flash feedback tokens back to our major events (See Spotlight: Brisbane and RC12/Commandfest Adelaide). I want to keep pushing this committee to stay accountable to its more underrepresented members, starting with continuing to show up as one of the few women in the room, not as a token seat but as someone who actually uses it.
Mark Brown
Level 5 Emeritus - Melbourne - He/Him
Nominating for position of Vice-President and Ordinary Committee Member.
I've been involved in the Magic Judge Community for 25+ years and I have been passionate about improving things for our region and advocated for our region during that time. I have been involved in the creation of OJA, helping to write the constitution. I believe that I continue to provide value to OJA by being part of this committee and as Vice-President I feel that I can support the president and step in when the president is unavailable. Should I not be elected as President I also nominate as an ordinary committee member, again because I believe that I can provide value to OJA by being on this committee.
Woody
Level 5 Judge, OJA President - Perth - He/Him
I am nominating for the position of President, or Ordinary Committee member in lieu of that
I've served on both the steering committee and the inaugural committee as President. In that time, I've written the level document, helped write the constitution, written the website (with help from Rhianna), replied to every email that came in, onboarded a lot of members, and processed most requests for exams and certifications. I also was wholly responsible for registering OJA as a company, onboarding the directors, and finalising the creation of the non-profit. I have also been responsible for outreach to Wizards of the Coast, and have formed a strong relationship with their Judge Program Manager. I believe I have been a driving force to make OJA function as a certification body, and yet despite the hours I've put in there is still so much left that I want to do.
I would love to serve again on the committee, with a view in 2027 to navigate the issues that are going to arise as WotC creates their own program. I believe I can put in the work and provide a guiding hand to help make this work for everyone in our community
Fry
Level 5 Judge Emeritus, OJA Treasurer - Melbourne - He/Him
I am nominating for the position of Treasurer.
I am the current treasurer, and I have performed an adequate job and will continue to. I set up the bank account and have maintained records and presented an annual report on our financial status.
Richard Tole
Level 1 OJA, Ordinary committee member, Adelaide, he/him
I am a current committee member and have maintained good standing and regular attendance at meetings. My background outside of OJA is in industrial and employee relations, with a focus on grievance and conflict management as well as performance managmenet. I would like to continue to be able to bring this particular lens to OJA on such matters, as well as being able to assist in any policy or related documentation into the future.
